How it is calculated

The size depends on the chest (bust) measurement in centimetres and on the gender choice, and each gender has its own table of exclusive upper limits. Men: under 86 cm is XS (EU 44, US 34), under 94 S (EU 46, US 36), under 102 M (EU 48, US 38), under 110 L (EU 50, US 40), under 118 XL (EU 52, US 42), otherwise XXL (EU 54, US 44). Women: under 84 is XS (EU 32–34, US 0–2), under 88 S (EU 36, US 4), under 96 M (EU 38–40, US 6–8), under 104 L (EU 42–44, US 10–12), under 112 XL (EU 46–48, US 14–16), otherwise XXL (EU 50–52, US 18–20). Because the limits are exclusive, exactly 94 cm already counts as M for men. Any value other than female is treated as male. Waist, hips, fit and brand differences are not considered, and a chest of zero or less gives no result.

Common mistakes

• Entering the measurement in inches. The tool expects centimetres, so 38 inches must be entered as about 96.5.
• Measuring over a thick jumper or too tightly. Measure the fullest part of the chest in light clothing with the tape level and snug but not pressing.
• Choosing the wrong gender. The two tables differ, so the same 92 cm gives M for a woman but S for a man.
• Expecting a single EU or US number for women. Women's results are ranges such as EU 38–40 or US 6–8, because each letter size covers two numeric sizes; check the brand's own chart for dresses and similar items.
• Ignoring borderline values. For men 93.9 cm gives S and 94.0 gives M; if you are close to a limit, check the brand's fit notes or size up for comfort.
