eDPI Calculator
Enter your mouse DPI and in-game sensitivity to get your eDPI.

How it is calculated
The calculation is a single product: eDPI = DPI × sensitivity. DPI is the setting of the mouse sensor (or its software), and sensitivity is the number from the game's own sensitivity slider. The result is shown with two decimals and has no unit of its own. The DPI must be greater than zero, and sensitivity may be zero or higher but not negative. The tool does not know which game you play, so it does not convert between games; it only gives the product for the pair you typed. Because games scale their sensitivity slider differently, an eDPI is a fair comparison between players of the same game, while the same number in two different games does not mean the same crosshair speed.
Worked example
A player uses a mouse set to 800 DPI and an in-game sensitivity of 0.45. Multiply the two values: 800 × 0.45 = 360.00. The eDPI is 360.00. The same figure results from 1600 DPI with a sensitivity of 0.225, since doubling one factor and halving the other leaves the product unchanged. That is why two players with different mice and sliders can still compare aim settings by looking at one number.
Common mistakes
- Using the mouse DPI printed on the box instead of the value actually set in the mouse software or on its DPI button. Many mice change DPI by profile.
- Comparing an eDPI from one game with an eDPI from another and expecting identical crosshair speed. Each game applies its own multiplier to the slider.
- Entering the in-game sensitivity as a percentage or a slider position when the game shows a different scale. Use the exact number the game's settings display, including decimals.
- Forgetting the Windows pointer speed or raw-input setting, which can change real movement without changing the eDPI number.
- Treating a higher eDPI as better. It only describes how fast the crosshair moves; the right value depends on your grip, mouse pad and play style.
About this calculator
eDPI (effective dots per inch) is the standard way competitive FPS players normalize mouse aim settings across different mice: it's simply mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity. Because the same sensitivity number means a different crosshair speed on a 400 DPI mouse than on a 1600 DPI one, comparing raw sensitivity numbers between two players tells you almost nothing on its own.
eDPI fixes that by producing one comparable number: within the same game, two setups with the same eDPI move your crosshair the same distance on screen for the same mouse movement, regardless of the mouse DPI. It does not carry over between games, because each game scales its sensitivity slider differently, so an eDPI is only comparable between players of the same title. It's the go-to metric pro players, coaches, and aim-training communities use when sharing or comparing settings in games like Valorant, CS2, and Overwatch.
