Crypto Gas Fee Calculator
See what a transaction costs in ETH and USD.
Result
How it is calculated
The fee is the gas the transaction uses times the price paid per unit of gas: fee in ETH = gas units × gas price (gwei) × 10-9, because one gwei is one billionth of one ETH. The dollar fee is fee in ETH × token price. Gas units depend on the type of transaction, and a plain ETH transfer uses 21,000. Gas price is the total gwei per unit you expect to pay, so add the base fee and the priority tip together before typing it. Token price is in dollars for one coin. The ETH figure is rounded to six decimals and is always labelled ETH. None of the inputs may be negative, and a zero in any of them gives a zero fee.
Worked example
A plain transfer uses 21000 gas units. The price is 25 gwei and one ETH is worth 3000 dollars. Step 1: 21000 × 25 = 525,000 gwei. Step 2: gwei to ETH, multiply by 10-9: 0.000525 ETH. Step 3: 0.000525 × 3000 = $1.58 (1.575 rounded to cents). The tool shows the ETH amount as 0.000525 ETH. A contract call using 150000 units at 40 gwei would cost 0.006000 ETH, or $18.00 at the same token price.
Common mistakes
- Typing the gas price in ETH or wei instead of gwei. A value like 0.000000025 will round the fee to zero; the field expects numbers such as 25.
- Using 21,000 units for every transaction. That figure is only for a plain transfer, while token swaps and contract calls use far more.
- Entering only the base fee and forgetting the priority tip, which makes the estimate too low.
- Leaving the token price at an old value. The dollar fee moves one-for-one with it.
- Treating the result as exact. The tool uses the units and price you enter, and the real gas used by a contract call is only known when the transaction runs.

About this calculator
A gas fee is the cost of executing a transaction on a blockchain network like Ethereum, paid to the network's validators for the computational work of processing and confirming it. The fee is calculated as Gas Units × Gas Price, where gas units measure how much computational effort the transaction requires (a simple transfer uses less than a complex smart-contract interaction) and gas price is set in gwei, one billionth of an ETH, and fluctuates with network congestion.
Every crypto user interacting with Ethereum and similar networks pays gas fees, and they can spike dramatically during periods of high demand, making it worth checking before submitting a transaction. Multiply the gas units by the gas price in gwei to get the fee in ETH, then by the ETH price to see it in dollars.
