There is potential — give it a chance!

How it is calculated

This is an entertainment tool with no relationship science behind it. The two names are trimmed, joined in the order entered and lowercased. A checksum (CRC-32) of that text is then taken, and the remainder after dividing by 101 gives a whole number from 0 to 100, which is shown as the percentage. The same two names in the same order always give the same number. The message depends only on the range: below 30, 30 to 59, 60 to 84, and 85 or more. Nothing about the people, their age or their feelings is used.

Worked example

Names: Ali and Ayse. Joined and lowercased: aliayse. The CRC-32 checksum of that text is 3,133,750,889. Dividing by 101 leaves a remainder of 53, so the result is 53%. That falls in the 30 to 59 range and shows the message "There is potential — give it a chance!"

Common mistakes

  • Taking the percentage as advice about a real relationship. It is a fixed number from a checksum of the letters.
  • Expecting the two orders to match. Typing "Ayse" then "Ali" joins the letters differently and gives another number.
  • Adding a surname or nickname and expecting a small change. Any extra letter completely changes the checksum, so the result can jump anywhere from 0 to 100.
  • Leaving a name empty or using only spaces. Both fields must contain text.

About this calculator

This is a lighthearted novelty tool that generates a compatibility-style percentage from two names, using a playful algorithm rather than anything scientifically validated. It exists purely for entertainment, turning a fun question into a shareable number rather than offering any genuine insight into a relationship.

People use it for fun with a crush, a partner, or as a joke among friends, often comparing results across different name combinations just to see what comes out. It's a popular quiz-style tool precisely because it doesn't take itself seriously, and results should be read in that same spirit.
